A 90% hire rate, accessible pathways, and a team rewriting the future of tech talent
Launching from after-school clubs, the Codecraft Collective has been a powerful force in changing the tech talent pipeline in Brevard County. In just the last 18 months, 29 people graduated from Codecraft Institute’s Software Development and Engineering Pathway, a 16-week program that is truly launching careers.
The results speak for themselves. As of July 1, 26 of those graduates are working full-time in software, primarily in the aerospace and defense industries. Seventeen accepted offers from Northrop Grumman while others joined leading employers like BoxMica, Craig Technologies, Collins Aerospace, and General Dynamics. That is a 90% post-program hire rate into high-wage, high-demand roles, with the overwhelming majority of them staying right here on the Space Coast.
And the impact of the Collective does not stop there. As the technical training provider for non-profit partners serving people with disabilities, including the incredible BAC LaunchIT program, Codecraft Works is helping open doors that are too often closed in the tech workforce. Nationally, 63% of disabled tech professionals who start a certification do not finish. Through this training, that graduation rate flips to over 80% thanks to an intentional design around accessibility, pacing, adaptive tools, and content that works for every learning style.
“This has always been about making sure opportunity isn’t reserved for a select few,” says Shannon Landin, founder of Codecraft Works. “I had the privilege of access early in my career, but I knew this could, and should, be for everyone. Our team has proven that when you design with intention, people thrive.”
This work matters. People with disabilities make up 16% of the workforce but only 11% of tech specialists. The Codecraft Foundation is working to close that gap too, making sure everyone who uses technology has the chance to shape it, defend it, not just consume it. The Codecraft Foundation partners with Brevard County Libraries and Northrop Grumman to run a robust middle and high school cybersecurity education program that prepares the next generation of cyber talent.
None of this would be possible without the team behind Codecraft Works, the developers, instructors, and innovators who build, test, teach, and refine every step. They are the reason graduates are walking into high-paying careers at a 95% higher rate than average. They are the reason students with disabilities are completing certifications when the national stats say they should not. They are the reason the Codecraft Collective is not just running programs, it is changing outcomes.
As Shannon puts it, “The real measure of success isn’t just who we’ve trained so far, it’s what happens next. We’re building a future where talent, opportunity, and innovation connect in ways that strengthen entire communities. And we’re only just getting started.”
From sparking curiosity in local classrooms to fueling aerospace and defense careers, the Codecraft Collective has proven what is possible when community, education, and industry come together. And with this team, the story is only just beginning.
